A MAN who trespassed into Cleveland Aquatic Centre remains in a stable condition at Princess Alexandra Hospital after almost drowning.

It is believed the man had illegally entered the council-owned property with others for a late night swim on Saturday, December 16 before becoming distressed in the water.
Redland City Council are investigating the matter and have approached pool operators Belgravia Leisure for further information.
A council spokesperson said it was understood the group entered through the pool’s fencing after moving from on from a nearby skate park, with authorities alerted after a security guard was called to help the man.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said paramedics arrived about 10.40pm and treated the man for about an hour before he was transported in a serious condition.
A Princess Alexandra Hospital spokesperson confirmed the man remained in intensive care in a stable condition.
