The first clue will be available from store Hampton Fine Jewellery and Design, which opens on Tuesday, January 2 at Red Edge Shopping Centre.
Owner Angela Hampton came up with the idea of the hunt to promote the opening of her shop.
She said she and her husband Jon had decided to keep the search area confined to their Redland Bay studio and surrounds.

“Every clue and the ring will be hidden in Redland Bay,” she said.
“It’s a guaranteed prize (and) if it isn’t worked out within the six weeks we’ll make the clues easier until it’s found.”
Ms Hampton said the 1.1 carat blue diamond was set in white gold with a swirl of white diamonds, making for a perfect Valentines Day gift or engagement ring.
“This ring took four weeks to create and it includes a valuation from an independent registered jewellery valuator,” she said.
Ms Hampton, who has made and sold jewellery for the past five years from home, said the bricks-and-mortar retail outlet was the couple’s first.
She said she began designing jewellery 13 years ago because of the creativity involved.
Hampton Fine Jewellery and Design opens on Tuesday, January 2 between 10am and 3pm.
Find the shop at Red Edge Shopping Centre, 30-32 Cypress Street, Redland Bay.
