A chestnut filly, with a white streak on her face, bought at the Magic Millions, holding off the field in a gutsy win with Sydney jockey Kathy O'Hara on board.
You could've been excused for thinking it was a story about Canberra trainer Nick Olive's stable star Single Gaze.
Instead it's Single Gaze 2.0, Sizzling Belle, with the two-year-old filly set for the $275,000 Black Opal Stakes (1200 metres) on Canberra's Super Sunday on March 11.
She's also paid up for the $3.5 million Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m), the world's richest race for two-year-olds, at Rosehill a fortnight later.
That would mark a return to the scene of her second career win in just her second start, after she saluted in the two-year-old plate (1100m) at Rosehill on Saturday.
She jumped well to find a place at the front of the field going into the home turn, before she kicked clear and held off the fast-finishing Outrageous.
Her looks, her guts, her "attitude" and her jockey can all draw comparisons with Single Gaze, who finished second in last year's Caulfield Cup (2400m) before running in the Melbourne Cup (3200m).
"She is a gutsy type like Single Gaze, definitely." Olive said.
"It was a really good win, obviously a big step up from Wagga to Sydney.
"They've both got a bit of attitude so there's a few similarities, nothing on the breeding side obviously, but definitely a few similarities - and they were both bought at the Magic Millions as well."
She'll now have a few days in the paddock before Olive brings her back into work for a run in the group 3 Black Opal.
Olive said she would resume two weeks earlier, possibly in the Lightning Ridge (1000m) or possibly the group 2 Silver Slipper (1100m).
He paid up for the Golden Slipper on Tuesday, which could be an option if Sizzling Belle finished in the first two at the Black Opal.
Single Gaze arrived in Melbourne on Friday ahead of her autumn campaign and will have a jump out on Tuesday, before she resumes in the group 1 CF Orr Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 10.
She'll have another two runs in Victoria culminating in the $1.5 million Australian Cup (2000m).
Then she'll head to Sydney for the group 1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) and then her main target the $1.5 million BMW (2400m).
She could then go on to the $4 million Queen Elizabeth (2000m) or the $2 million Sydney Cup (3200m) after that.
Meanwhile, Queanbeyan trainer Joe Cleary bookended his home-town meet with winners.
Three-year-old-filly Seealla broke her maiden status by winning the first race of the day at Queanbeyan on Saturday in a Cleary-quinella with his All The Sky finishing second in the maiden plate (900m).
Then Creative Vision saluted in the final race of the day - a maiden handicap (1200m).
That second win also ensured jockey Brodie Loy had a double for the meet, having previously ridden the Craig Weeding-trained Chocolate Coated to victory in the maiden plate (1600m).
It was a day of doubles with Canberra trainer Gratz Vella also having two winners - You're Kidding Me in the benchmark 57 handicap (1000m) and Addchan in the benchmark 55 handicap (1200m).
The latter completed apprentice jockey Carly Frater-Hill's pair of winners, having already kicked home Sunwisp in the benchmark 55 handicap (1460m).
It was the Doug Gorrel-trained mare's first win in almost a year, with the seven-year-old last saluting at the Sapphire Coast on February 4, 2017.
