They call him "Sleepy" because he always looks tired, but there's nothing sluggish about Hong Kong fast bowler Aizaz Khan.
Khan took six wickets to leave Cricket ACT's most imposing batting line-up in tatters and gift Tuggeranong a first innings victory over Weston Creek Molonglo in the Douglas Cup at Stirling Oval on Saturday.
Not only did he claim a stunning 6-36 (eight overs) to roll Canberra's best for 82 on a batsman's paradise, he had already hammered 64 runs to help the Vikings to 8-404 (declared).
The Hong Kong quick has played two games for Tuggeranong as he prepares to face an ACT XI in a Prime Minister's XI curtain-raiser at Manuka Oval on Friday.
While 24-year-old Khan will play no further role in Tuggeranong's Douglas Cup defence, captain Shane Devoy will partner him one more time - and he can't wait.
Devoy, Tuggeranong teammate Benji Floros and ANU paceman Michael Ninneman have all been invited to play for Hong Kong in the Prime Minister's XI curtain-raiser.
"He just showed an awesome skill-set, he was able to bowl full, stood the seam up. A couple of the balls he took wickets with were just absolute class with the way he seamed it around," Devoy said.
"Both him and [Hong Kong wicketkeeper] Chris Carter have been awesome, really good around the group. Aizaz goes by 'Sleepy', he always looks like he's about to fall asleep, he's a lovely guy.
"They've both managed to score fifties for us and Aizaz, who took a six-for for us, was just outstanding.
"It's always a challenge to take 10 wickets at Stirling so to do it in a session, it was just unbelievable bowling."
Weston Creek Molonglo endured a horror start to the run chase when Benji Floros claimed Josh Myburgh with his first ball, before Khan picked up Mark Bennett to leave the hosts flailing at 2-1.
John Rogers steadied the ship with 39, but his departure marked the start of a freefall as Weston Creek Molonglo lost their last eight wickets for just 31 runs thanks to a Khan masterclass.
Devoy enforced the follow on and was met with more resistance as Rogers plundered an unbeaten 70* from 68 balls, before the two captains called an early end to play with Weston Creek Molonglo at 3-182.
"Awesome day," Devoy said.
"Last week to hit 400 we were able to tick off a lot of goals that we set for how we bat throughout the day. They aren't really about numbers, it's about time and it was awesome to do that."
Weston Creek Molonglo's rare follow-on wasn't the only one of the day - and the other one ended in an outright victory.
Ginninderra fast bowler Jak Willcox ripped through ANU with career-best figures of 6-34 from 15 overs to secure a huge win for the Tigers at ANU North Oval.
Meanwhile, a Hayden Page five-wicket haul set up a first innings win for Eastlake against Queanbeyan at Kingston Oval.
Trailing by 65 after the first innings, Queanbeyan battled back to 7-225 in the second dig before the captains shook hands midway through day two.
Wests-UC walked away with first innings points against North Canberra Gungahlin after their clash came to a premature end, with a wet pitch resulting in no play on day two at Jamison Oval.
