NINE teams from Capalaba competed in the 2018 Queensland Oztag Junior State Cup staged at the Sunshine Coast from January 26 to 28.
The Capalaba teams comprised boys’ under 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 years and the girls’ under 12,14 and 15.
Making it to the finals were Capalaba Under 14 boys who lost to Caloundra 7-1.

Capalaba playe Helen Uitualgi took out MVP for the carnival in the Under 14 girls division.
The event attracted about 8000 people.
The Capalaba teams were among 157 teams competing on 15 fields throughout the weekend, all vying for State championship status.
There are divisions from under 10s to under 15s in both boys and girls.
The weekend also provided a field for more than 2500 players to vie for selection in the Queensland Country or Queensland City teams.
These will compete at the Oztagh Super series being held in June.
