MORE than 500 native saplings were planted at Egret Colony Wetlands last Saturday to help mark World Wetlands Day.
The work was done by volunteers including those from Egret Colony Wetlands Bushcare group and Conservation Volunteering Australia.
Egret Colony Wetlands Bushcare group spokeswoman Carmen McNaught said the holes had already been dug for planting ease.
Division four councillor Lance Hewlett, his wife Sheena Hewlett and Redlands MP Kim Richards also helped on the day.
Cr Hewlett said council had given about $8600 to Conservation Volunteers Australia and Revive Our Wetlands in the Redlands for conservation work.
