Second-placed Queensland have suffered a disastrous batting collapse after lunch on the opening day of their important Sheffield Shield match against Tasmania at the Gabba.
The home side limped to 6-169 at tea, having lost 5-24 at one stage.
Tasmanian quick Sam Rainbird outshone teammate and Test squad member Jackson Bird, taking 3-34 off 13 overs while the latter went wicketless (0-39).
Opener Matthew Renshaw helped Queensland build a solid platform and in conjunction with debutant Lachy Pfeffer, the pair added 90 for the first wicket.
However Renshaw was out on the stroke of lunch caught behind off the bowling of Tom Rogers for 56 and Pfeffer's dismissal for 36 after the break kick-started the collapse.
The match offers the opportunity to leapfrog to the top of the Shield ladder should leaders NSW stumble against Western Australia.
