Alexandra Hills State School has announced its captains and vice captains for 2018.
Captains are Sharna Watt and Taleigha Kingston-Francis with vice captains John Taumoepenu and Llewellyn Corgy Hamilton.
Other student leaders for 2018 include sports captains Luke Wilson and Hailey Elms (Banksia) and Daniel Faunt (Wattle).
Cultural ambassador is Molly Moman with Kayla Vasquez Thompson as student council president and Mya O’Leary as environmental committee president. Students are elected by their peers.
Community Liaison Officer Denney Moman said the school community was excited about 2018 and the many possibilities that it held.
“At Alexandra Hills State School, we are always striving to concrete a strong educational foundation for our students to give them the best outcome in their futures. We are looking forward to many ventures both within the school and out in the community in 2018,” she said.
“With a strong student leadership team we are very excited about their ideas and the important input that they will add to the school this year. This is a great opportunity for these students to grow in these leadership roles and form a great sense of community responsibility.”
School principal Wayne Fletcher said he was proud of the school leaders and hoped to achieve positive outcomes in 2018.
The school has grown this year from 180 to 200 students.
