Western Sydney don't mind if revenge is served hot, cold or in between so long as Friday's A-League meeting with Newcastle doesn't end with another assistant coach handing in his resignation.
It's been eight weeks since Hayden Foxe quit in the dressing room after the Wanderers were flogged 4-0 in the Hunter, disaffected by results - or lack thereof - during the early weeks of Josep Gombau's tenure.
But a lot can change in two months and based on back-to-back wins this fortnight goalkeeper Vedran Janjetovic is certain his sixth-placed side can further consolidate a finals spot.
"We've been trying very hard to adapt to a new style of football and we've finally turned a corner," he said.
"Two in a row and looking to make it three."
Two weeks ago the Wanderers saw off ninth-placed Central Coast in Gosford before Chris Ikonomidis led Sunday's 4-0 home flogging of woeful wooden-spoon favourites Wellington.
Now the going gets tougher against the top two, with second-placed Newcastle to visit before premiers-elect Sydney FC travel across town the following week.
And vengeance against the Jets is top of the menu.
Definitely, Janjetovic says.
"You always want to redeem yourself, for yourself personally as well as for the fans and the club.
"It wasn't a great result last time, so hopefully we can turn it around."
The top two will provide a decent indication of whether Western Sydney can still challenge this season, with Gombau maintaining the league is so tightly contested any team can beat any other.
The Jets are unbeaten in two since their shock defeat to the Phoenix. They sit 12 points shy of the Sky Blues and four ahead of Melbourne City.
"They are high flying ... they've got some dangerous players," Janjetovic said.
"We've been doing our homework on them and we know they're going to come out firing and give us nothing less than a battle.
"We just need to shut down their ball players. They've got a few good players there and hey're quick on the break, so we've got to stop their transition moments and stay on top of them."
Gombau, who will oversee his first game at Spotless Stadium, has flagged changes with winger Alvaro Cejudo to finally make his comeback from a calf injury on the bench.
