Adam Lopez of Mount Cotton will join life long friends in a Friends for Life concert being staged with the Queensland Pops Orchestra under the baton of Patrick Pickett on October 20.
Mr Lopez joins Gregory Moore and Nathan Kneen who he met at the Queensland Conservatorium.
“Every time we bump into each other, we talk about doing something together. This time all the stars aligned. We all talked to Patrick and we are all here at the same time. We are friends for ever, so this is the perfect concert,” Mr Lopez said.
Head of voice at Sheldon College, Mr Lopez said he intended to contact the school’s former head of instrumental Sean O’Boyle who he believed had written an arrangement for orchestra of Amigos Para Siempre, which would be a fitting song for the concert’s finale.
“We are a good blend and are putting together some duets and trios. Best of all is that we all have such different styles. Greg is Celtic, Nathan sings the heroic tenor classics and I am more contemporary and Latin. Together we can do anything,” he said.
“I remember doing the Fugue for Tin Horns at the Conservatorium. It was so much fun. I think we should include this. And of course, we can’t not do Nessun Dorma. I can’t wipe the smile off my face thinking about this.”
Tickets are from $76.50 to $92 and can be booked on 136 246 or qpac.com.au
