The Alexandra Hills Men’s Shed may be a place where men hone their skills, but it is also a place to get to know other men in the vicinity.
The shed, situated at 38a William Street is open Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am to 1pm and Wednesdays from 9am to noon. Wednesday is the social day.
The shed houses a variety of both wood and metal working tools including lathes, welders, bench saws, oxy set and other power and hand tools.
Vice president David Smith said men worked on various community projects including benches for playgrounds, schools and sporting clubs.
Men over 18 years are welcome also to work on their own projects in the company of other men.
“Our shed promotes safe and friendly environment,” Mr Smith said.
