Safety will be improved for Birkdale pedestrians, with work set to start by the end of the month.
Capalaba MP Don Brown said improvement works would be undertaken at the intersection of Birkdale Road with Agnes and Napier Street.
“Safety of all road users is our number one priority and I am pleased we are able to create safer pedestrian infrastructure,” Mr Brown said.
“The upgrade aims to improve safety for the local community crossing this busy intersection each day.”
Mr Brown said the improvements would include realigning the kerb ramp, improving line marking and installing a tactile ground surface indicator to help the visually impaired.
“This $230,000 project is funded by the state government ... and is expected to be completed by the end of May, weather … permitting,” Mr Brown said.
