Bush Balladeer Kalestri Butler will perform at the next club social for Redlands Modern Country Music Club being held from 5pm on Saturday, March 3 at Pinklands Sports Reserve, 226 Cleveland Redland Bay Road, Thornlands.
Born and raised on a cattle station in Queensland’s Gulf of Carpentaria, Kalesti was aged three when she made her stage debut at Charters Towers Country Music Festival. Since that time her music accolades include the 2011 Australian Bush Balladeer Star Quest in Tamworth, 2011, new talent trophy at the Gidgee Coal Bush Ballad Awards, 2012 New Talent at the Stan Coster Memorial Australian Bush Ballad Awards and winning the 2013 APRA Tamworth Songwriters Association New Songwriter Award.
Her musical influences include Slim Dusty, Sara Storer, Tom T Hall, Charlie Pride, Dolly Parton and Patsy Cline. She was a graduate of the 2011 CMAA Academy Of Country Music. Her second album Airborne was released at the 2018 Tamworth Country Music Festival and will be on sale at the concert.
Members of the Redlands Modern Country Music Club will also be on stage offering a variety of country music entertainment.
Admission is $4 for members and $5 for visitors. A barbeque meal will be available and a licensed bar will be operating. A free country style supper will be served at 8.30pm. Patrons are advised to bring a chair and insect repellent.
