Owner and Head Coach of the Ormiston Private Health Club at Ormiston College, Kev Rogers has set new national records after competing in the Australian Powerlifting League Gold Coast Cup on February 24.
Rogers defended his title as World Champion and record holder in bench press and deadlift (push/pull) with the Global Powerlifting Committee in the 60kg Class.
He again won the championships and set new Masters and Open national records, and was named in the Australian team to compete at the Anzac Cup to be held in New Zealand.
Rogers now currently holds 20 national and seven world records.
He is currently training for the APL drug tested national championships, to be held on the Gold Coast in August. He will compete in either the 56 or 60kg class in Masters and Open in pull/push and/or bench press. His goal is to win the national competition and set new national and world records. He then hopes to be selected for the Australian team to compete at the drug tested International Powerlifting League world championships, being held at Las Vagas in November.
Rogers said he wanted to thank his sponsor Hog’s Breath at Cleveland for its ongoing and long term support.
