Men needing support after cancer treatment and diagnosis can find strength with the Redlands Mens Cancer Support Group.
The group formed in December 2017and meets at 10am on the first Tuesday of the month at the Victoria Point library, except on school holiday months when it meets at other venues.
The next meeting will be held at the Redlands RSL, Cleveland at 10am on April 3.
The group is an open group focussed on welcoming and supporting new and existing members, whatever their stage on the cancer journey, with the overall primary aims of the group being support, education and information.
Highly qualified cancer and other medical professionals are invited to attend the meetings as guest speakers with the talks covering the causes, effects and treatment for various cancers, plus advice on early detection strategies.
Partners and/or family are invited to join in on the day with the aim that they may better understand and share the knowledge gained. Social support activities are part of the group’s future agenda.
Everything discussed in the group is confidential. Members have the opportunity to share their skills, insights, strengths and hopes and recognise that everyone in the group has some expertise in dealing with cancer.
An invitation is extended to all Redlands men who have experienced or are experiencing any type of cancer journey to join us at out meetings.
