IT will be an early start for Redlands boaties next Sunday but not for fishing adventures.
Instead, bargain buys can be reeled in at Victoria Point Volunteer Marine Rescue’s biannual boaties market.
More than 200 stalls selling accessories for vessels will set up shop at Victoria Point State School between 6am and noon on Sunday, March 25.
The event is expected to raise up to $4000 for the squadron, with money also generated for the school’s P&C from sales of barbecue breakfasts and drinks.
The money raised for the school will be used for facility upgrades, a P&C spokeswoman said.
Victoria Point VMR executive officer Del Mirams said visitors could grab a find while there and enter raffles to win prizes.
He said money raised for the base would be used for operational costs and other expenses.
The base dispatched vessels 41 times throughout summer, with 11 of those for rescues.
