Every time someone purchases a car from Huebner Motors at Beaudesert, they are supporting Heart of Australia.
Dealer principal Mark Huebner said his dealership was one of 28 Toyota dealers in the south west to donate and maintain two 2017 Landcruisers newly donated to Heart of Australia for the delivery of medical services to outback Australians. The cars were given with a 50/50 arrangement with Toyota Australia with a cash amount donated from the sale of every car.
Mr Huebner said the cars were accessorised with bull bars, tow bars, UHF radios and given window tinting at the Beaudesert dealership.
“We are close to hospitals but the western farmers do it tough. They might have a twinge and put up with pain, but then they could have a heart attack or melanoma. You hear these stories from the other dealers. I am proud to be involved and support such a great cause,” Mr Huebner said.
The cars will be used as support vehicles to a mobile heart unit.
“Support vehicles play an essential role in the provision of our service. We try to maximise every minute that the Heart Bus can spend in a community serving patients, and the support vehicles allow us to perform logistical tasks, such as shuttling medical specialists, health practitioners and support crew to and from the vehicle without interrupting the Heart Bus’ time on site,” Cardiologist and Founder of Heart of Australia Dr Rolf Gomes said.
Toyota Australia Senior Manager of Regional Operations, Jason Viney said the story of the work that Heart of Australia was performing to support outback families was compelling. The LandCruiser in particular is a popular vehicle in outback Australia, so it seemed fitting that we provide Dr Gomes and his team with two new models.”
“When we approached our dealer network with this opportunity, we had an overwhelming response. Two Toyota LandCruiser vehicles have been delivered on site during a scheduled stop in Dalby, which the specialist medical clinic on wheels visits every fortnight.”
