The man’s rescue came after a similar incident at North Stradbroke Island.
A helicopter retrieved a 10-year-old girl from Frenchman’s Bay at Point Lookout after she became distressed in the water about 3pm.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said paramedics were not required to resuscitate the girl but the incident was logged as a near drowning.
She was taken to the Lady Cilento Hospital for treatment.
