The Redland Easter Family Festival says Easter like no other community event with a free day of family fellowship and activities from 10am to 3pm on Easter Monday, April 2 at the Cleveland showgrounds.
Festival president Peter Sutter said the festival had grown in strength and numbers since it began in 2000 and was put on by the community of churchies in the Redlands.
“Everything is free. You can’t spend $1 unless you want to make a donation,” he said.
This includes rides for children from Party Time Amusements which is bringing the super sizzler, round up, cup and saucer, giant slide, all age castle and new commando obstacle course. Children can also participate in an Easter egg hunt.
Children’s entertainment runs all day with Dan the Music Man. Two other stages are also running and feature community performances. Entertainment and displays will be provided by the Redland City Choir, Redlands College, Ormiston College, Queensland Lutheran Early Childhood, Creation Ministries, Christian Motorcycle Club, PSSM Postal Sunday school movement from central Queensland, Make it Home Safely (education for young drivers), Good Life gym, St George Bank's coffee van, doctor vacume and Wycliffe bible translation.
Mr Sutter said there would also be a ministry tent of hope and promise with testimonies from Johaan Kaa, Joel Shaw and Nathaniel Olivier.
Food includes sandwiches, sausages, donuts, fairy floss and scones.
Mr Sutter said today’s festival had expanded to encompass hundreds of people who reached out to thousands.
“The festival brings everyone together. It is the most powerful community marketing available today. Our aim is to run a free of charge family festival as an annual community event and facilitate family celebration of the true meaning of Easter in a Christian environment,” he said.
Mr Sutter said anyone wishing to volunteer to work at the festival can contact him on 0411 722 548.
