THE Redlands Relay For Life is eight weeks away and people are encouraged to register before the early bird discount ends.
The community event, held on May 19 and 20 at Redlands Showgrounds, will bring together teams of friends, families and colleagues to celebrate cancer survivorship, remember loved ones lost and fight back against cancer through raising funds for Cancer Council Queensland.
Locals who want to get involved before March 31 can register for just $20 per person.
Cancer Council Queensland chief executive Chris McMillan urged locals to find a group of people and register for the annual event before the incentive ended.
“Everyone is invited to join Redlands Relay For Life and help create a cancer free future,” Ms McMillan said.
“Organised by passionate, local volunteers, Relay For Life is a fun and moving overnight experience that will stay with you forever.
“In addition to the registration discount, the benefit of signing up early is you can start fundraising sooner. The sooner you raise funds, the sooner we can get it to where it’s needed.
“An estimated 10,120 people will be diagnosed with cancer this year in the greater Brisbane region and need our support.
“All funds raised by Relay For Life teams are directed into lifesaving cancer research in Queensland, prevention programs, and support services.”
