CLEVELAND’S Sizzler could be closed down and replaced with a drive-through Taco Bell store, after a development application for the project was lodged to Redland City Council.

Collins Restaurants Management wants to knock down the existing Sizzler restaurant and build a quick service drive-through.
The company has also has applied to extend the next door KFC store’s trading hours to 24-hours a day.

Taco Bell has not been named in the development application but a picture of a the Tex-Mex store has been included in a public notice about the proposal.
Car parking and loading bays will be located behind the quick service drive-through, with enough space for 13 cars in designated queuing on the building’s western and northern sides.
Vehicle entrance will be via Grant Street but pedestrians can walk through from Shore Street West.
While the KFC store will be linked via a pedestrian connection, no structural changes to the existing KFC store or its site are planned as part of the proposal.
Collins Restaurants Management is linked to company Collins Foods, which runs KFC, Taco Bell and Sizzler stores.
