Job Description

The Publishing Officer will support print and online activities within the Publishing team. Contributing to projects including reporting at weekly meetings, preparing minutes and tracking progress in relevant databases and registers. The Publishing Officer's core responsibilities of the role include:

  • Undertaking publishing activities including desktop publishing, preparing illustrations,sourcing and manipulating images and video production
  • Assisting the Publishing Coordinator in delivering and prioritising publishing activities
  • Preparing content for digital communications (HTML, MP4 and PDF)
  • Ensuring visual identity consistency and integrity across all communications initiatives and marketing materials
  • Developing communications that highlight the organisation's initiatives and priorities and reflect audience interests
  • Assisting the Publishing Coordinator to review and monitor efficiency and effectiveness of administration work practices and procedures

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be proficient in the multimedia software applications of Adobe Creative Suite (CC), including the preparation of electronic artwork for commercial print and video for online distribution.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience in web content management systems and skills in HTML coding
  • Ability to develop and implement systems and procedures to guide work and track progress
  • Understanding of best practices in design and production processes and technologies
  • Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Office 2010 applications, including the development and use of templates
  • Relevant tertiary qualification Graphic Design or Multimedia, desirable
  • Valid Police Check
