Job Description
The Senior Communications & Engagement Officer will work in a small, dynamic, and fast‐paced team; the principal objective of this position is to provide high-quality communication and engagement services to support the organisation's strategic plan. The Senior Communications & Engagement Officer's core responsibilities of the role include:
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating communication and stakeholder strategies
- Developing and implementing content across a wide range of internal and external communication and engagement channels
- Managing effective relationships with stakeholders to achieve the organisation's goals
- Coordinating and managing the use of specialist project service providers, including contractors and consultants
- Working collaboratively across the departments to ensure the delivery of effective communications that are of a high written and visual standard complying with the organisation guidelines
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will possess strong coordination, liaison and influencing skills. The Communications & Engagement Officer will demonstrate active listening and have a high degree of initiative.
Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrated exceptional communication and/or engagement skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience working as a communications or stakeholder engagement officer.
- Proven experience working as part of a small team, as well as across various project teams.
- Demonstrated media liaison and strategic issues management experience.
- Ability to strategically manage and prioritise competing issues and activities and identify suitable opportunities and events to align with program delivery milestones
- Applicants must be an Australian citizen at the time an offer of employment is made.
- A tertiary qualification in fields related to communications, media or associated disciplines would be advantageous
- National Police History Check
