PO4 Speech Pathologist - provides leadership and high quality expert advice in speech & language pathology services to young people in Youth Justice

The role of the Regional Speech and Language Pathologist is to provide leadership and expert advice to ensure high quality speech and language pathology services are provided to young people involved with Youth Justice services. You will have a lead role in ensuring profession specific practice is integrated into the broader framework of the Youth Justice services provided. Key Responsibilities:
- Work directly with young people who are subject to youth justice interventions to assess and treat speech, language and communication difficulties.
- Provide expert advice, consultation and support for practitioners on complex, profession-specific practice and client issues. This may include collaboration or co-ordination across disciplines, programs and business units within the Department and other agencies.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and devlop and implement individualised support and intervention plans to assist young people in their on-going development.
- Promote flexible and appropriate models of practice and support and advise on the development of practice within Youth Justice and their partners in supporting Youth Justice clients who have complex speech and communication needs (profession–specific and cross discipline).
- Prepare and maintain high standard reports and client records consistent with departmental and professional requirements.
- Lead the development and implementation of training programs for Youth Justice staff and other government and non-government agencies.
