THE doors to The Cage flew open and about 40 people took the opportunity to check out The Cage Youth Foundation's inaugural open day on March 30.
Foundation director Linda Grieve said the response was "quite amazing" and was happy with the great result.
The day was intended to showcase what happens at the Capalaba centre and its various outside activities. Of note are its Epic Day Outs, held at local skateparks and involving bands and competitions.
On hand was The Cage's work team The Flying Squad, an initiative which creates income for the workers and for the Cage and provides life skills training.
The squad is available for litter pick up, graffiti removal, lawn mowing and odd jobs and is coordinated by Aaron McClimont.
