GOOD things come by the dozen at hospitals in Redland City where 12 babies were born on the auspicious date of 12/12/12.
Eleven bubs were born on Wednesday at Redland Hospital and one was born at Mater Mothers' Private Redland.
It did not stop there, with Elise Mackie making up the city's baker's dozen when she became Cleveland's newest resident at 12 minutes to 12am on 12/12/12 at Brisbane's Mater Private Hospital.
Elise, born to parents Melinda and Allan Mackie, tipped the scales at 3.57kg (7lb14oz).
Grandmother Jan Burnage, who lives in Birkdale, said it was not until she was having a cuppa with husband Errol after the birth, when the penny dropped and she realised the significance of 11.48pm.
"That's when my husband realised the baby was born at 12 minutes to 12 and we had a laugh," Mrs Burnage said.
Christmas was a little early for Alexandra Hills mum Gina Lofting, who gave birth to 2.73kg (6lb) daughter Aria at Redland Hospital at 9.26am.
Aria was one of 11 babies born at Redland Hospital who will have the birth date 12/12/12.
The hospital delivered its first 12/12/12 baby at 12.52am and Redland's delightful dozen was completed with the birth of 4kg (8lb13) Kalen Luke Bessell, from Birkdale, at Mater Mothers' Private Redland.
Parents Kristi and Jason Bessell said Kalen's arrival, at 8.10am, had been long awaited by his three-year-old sister, Ashlee.
Aria's birth at Redland Hospital coincided with a visit from Santa and his elves, from Bunnings at Capalaba and Victoria Point.
They delivered presents to patients and spread their Christmas cheer from a motorised sleigh.
For a fifth year, the Bunnings teams visited the hospital and this year, they delivered presents to the children's and maternity wards before visiting the rest of the hospital.
