Former Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating addressed the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporation first annual general meeting on Sunday.
Mr Keating, 69, told the crowd one of his greatest achievements as prime minister was overseeing the passing of the Native Title Act in 1993.
His speech on Sunday was nearly two years after the Quandamooka people won a 16-year battle for native title on the island in 2011.
As part of the week's celebrations, QYAC also launched its camping business, Minjerribah Camping, a business enterprise partnership with Indigenous Business Australia (IBA).
Elders used sand and water to bless Minjerribah Camping at the Dunwich Community Hall, on Saturday.
Plans for the next year were also outlined at the ceremony.Under the native title determination, the Quandamooka People were handed the rights to manage the camping grounds and beaches on North Stradbroke Island which were previously under the management of the Redlands City Council.
Division 2 councillor Craig Ogilvie said the the new camping business was good for locals and tourism. "
This is a proud day that shows the potential if a council and the community work together."
A spokesman for the Quandamooka said the Minjerribah Camping project aimed to create a future where Straddie's spirit, cultural values and beauty were conserved and restored.
