HE may be 90 years old, but Jack Chapman is showing no signs of slowing down.
Cleveland Bowls Club awarded Mr Chapman with the Patriarch Medallion on his birthday last Thursday to celebrate the milestone.
The medallions are handed out to all members who reach 90 years of age.
Mr Chapman is one of only two nonagenarians at the club, the other being 94-year-old Kevin Petersen.
He joined the club in 1996 after moving from his native Scotland, and immediately felt at home.
"I never played in Scotland; it was my daughter-in-law who came up (to the club) without me knowing and put my name down," he said.
"The first day I met three guys who said I'd like it here, they gave me the rules and I just joined up: it was great."
While he no longer plays pennants, Mr Chapman can still be seen at the club on Thursdays playing social bowls as the skip.
He also walks to the bowls club from his home at Raby Bay each week.
"I left my car in Scotland and I've walked everywhere since then," he said.
"I've enjoyed bowls and I will keep doing it as long as I can, it's very good exercise."
