RUGBY league fans across the state were watching North Stradbroke Island on Sunday when the world's third biggest rugby league competition, Intrust Super Cup, kicked off at Dunwich.
The island's indigenous heritage was recognised when Wynnum Manly Seagulls took to Ron Stark Oval for the Super Cup game, thrashing Central Queensland Capras 40 - 10.
The game was part of the Naidoc Week celebrations and was televised across the state.
Both teams wore jerseys with indigenous prints for the match, partly sponsored by Deadly Choices, a program run by the Institute of Urban Indigenous Health and Redland City Council.
