Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp wowed crowds at Raby Bay when he spent up to 20 minutes chatting and shaking hands with onlookers.
The A-list celebrity, who had spent the entire day filming on Moreton Bay, delighted the crowd with his candour and quick wit.
He arrived in Raby Bay aboard a Water Police boat before walking about 200m through the gathered crowd.
He told the crowd he had had lots of laughs in Australia and even smiled and waved when one kid asked if he could borrow some of his treasure.
He shook hands with Birkdale State School student Carly Laffan, who had been waiting in the crowd.
"He shook my hand and said it was nice to meet me," Carly said.
Mum Karen Laffan asked him if he had had a good time so far in Australia and he said "he loved it".
Depp, 51, also said he had not slept for days but showed no signs of being tired, despite being on board a boat heading into Moreton Bay before 8.30am this morning.
This morning, Depp, known for his charitable nature, kindly allowed Alexandra Hills mum Kaylynn Ludwig to take a selfie with him.
Raby Bay VMR's Morris McGiffin said filming was expected to continue for "days".
He said the Raby Bay VMR spot was well known to Hollywood filmmakers after Angelina Jolie checked in every morning during filming of Unbroken, before heading out on to the bay.

A gut feeling paid off for Alexandra Hills mum Kaylynn Ludwig, who rushed to Raby Bay this morning with the faint hope of meeting her movie idol Johnny Depp.
Her hunch paid off and just after 8am she was standing face-to-face with the movie star - albeit still in her pyjamas.
Depp, 51, in Cleveland for filming of the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie, saw Ms Ludwig's two-year-old daughter Chelsea and rushed over to say "Hi".
"I couldn't believe it - he lived up to his celebrity status and came over to shake hands with my daughter - he's a real star," Ms Ludwig said.
"He was so nice and said hello to my daughter and shook her hand.
"If you look at the video, you can see he was waving and then he started coming towards me.
"But he was being ushered away and had to go - but we were able to get a selfie before he left."
Ms Ludwig said she was in such a rush to get to Raby Bay to meet the star, she didn't have time to change out of her spotted pyjamas and ugg boots

Depp, dressed in character as the inimitable Captain Jack Sparrow, wowed a small crowd outside the VMR at Raby Bay just after 8am.
Onlookers could not believe it when the 51-year-old chatted and joked with kids before heading off for a day of filming in and around Moreton Bay.
A few steps behind Depp was his body double also dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow and Martin Klebba, who plays pirate Marty in the movie.
The car park at Raby Bay VMR has been turned into a makeshift film holding yard with more than 20 large trucks and containers.
The stars and crew boarded a boat heading out into the bay to catch up to the Dying Gull, the 38ft single-mast boat that docked in Raby Bay Harbour over the weekend.
Helicopters were used to ferry crew to the boat, which is believed to be filming near Peel Island and Moreton Island's Tangalooma.
Crew could not have wished for a better day, with blue skies and a slight south-easterly wind.
Ferries and the water taxi at Toondah Harbour have also been sequestered for the film crews.
Jolie filmed parts of her movie Unbroken, about the life of US Olympian and athlete Louis Zamperini, off Peel Island, where she was able to get shots of a life raft in open waters.
She was photographed getting into a car at Toondah Harbour where Redland City Council and the state government plan a major residential and commercial overhaul.
