SCHOOL is out not only for the summer, but forever for Redland City’s year 12 students.
Following more than a decade of school education that culminated in a week of school formals and award presentations, the books and pens were down on Friday, November 20 for the graduating class of 2015.
At Faith Lutheran College, Redlands, Corey Prior, Sarah Fraser, Madison Berry, Jed Brown and Renee Livingstone spoke on behalf of their peers when they agreed they were all looking forward to the next stage of their lives.
Madison said she already had work as a dental assistant to transition to, while Jed and Corey said they both had applied to study bio-medical and exercise science at university.
Renee said she was aiming to study urban and regional planning at QUT and Sarah, also hoping to be offered a place at QUT, had applied for studies in the field of justice.
All five said they would be heading off to Schoolies events on either the Gold or Sunshine Coast, but were quick to add they had been well-briefed at their school on issues of personal safety and responsible behaviour.
“We’ll look out for each other,” Corey said.
As year 12s across the Redlands walked out through their school gates for the last time as students, the nervous wait began for their final results, which will be released on Friday, December 18.
