GREAT-great-grandmother Edith Chandler turned 100 last month, celebrating with a morning tea with close family and friends.
Great granddaughter Chloe Swanson said her great grandmother was born in Uralla, NSW in 1916.
Edith’s husband Bob served in WWII but passed away in 1981.
There are five generations of proud women in the family.
“She lived in many areas, including Goondiwindi and New Farm,’’ Ms Swanson said.
“She lived with family in Cleveland up until very recently when she moved to a nursing home to be near her daughter.
“She has three children, Beverley and Rhonda – who has passed away in 2015 – and Robert.
“I'm the great granddaughter so I'm a bit blurry on a few things but she has many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and became a great-great grandmother in 2013.
“We named her second great-great grandchild Charlie Edith in honour of her.
“She has received her letter from the prime minister and the queen and thoroughly enjoyed her celebrations.
“She will be so excited about this.’’
