ZONTA Wynnum Redlands celebrated its 35th anniversary with a birthday bash at the Redlands Museum recently.
Over 60 guests attended the event which honoured foundation club members Phyllis Pledger, Barbara Carter, Kath McNeilly and Pauline Denisenko.
District Governor Ansmarie Van Erp presented each of the foundation members with a Zonta yellow rose to mark 35 years of service in the Redlands.
Zonta International is a global organisation of about 30,000 members in 67 countries.
About 30 professional and business women are members of Zonta Wynnum Redlands.
The club partners with Redlands Centre for Women to hold an annual Melbourne Cup event, which will be held at Redlands Sporting Club on November 1.
The club raises money to support projects to empower local women and girls.
Recently their efforts have included sponsoring a course for young women to build greater self-esteem and confidence, providing toiletry packs to domestic violence victims and mental health patients and raising awareness of the need to prevent domestic violence against women.
