WITH police officers, Santa, balloons and ice-cream all on offer, Wellington Point will be a fun place to take children on Wednesday, December 14.
To beat the summer heat, Capalaba police have added ice-cream to the ticket as a special treat for children at their Coffee with a Cop event.
Santa will hand out lollies and balloons and the Queensland Police mascots Clancy the Koala and PD Sarge will be there.
Senior Constable Samantha Schofield from Capalaba police beat said the event is for children to meet police in a friendly, relaxed environment.
“We want kids to be able to say hello to police officers and for parents to have a chat with us over a coffee,” she said.
“Police are here to help people and we want children to feel it is safe to talk to us.”
Crime Stoppers and Volunteers in Policing will also give out crime prevention information at the event.
Ice-cream and Coffee with a Cop will be held in front of Tanja’s Cafe and Cold Rock Ice Creamery on Main Road from 10am to 2pm.
