ORGANISERS are expecting another big crowd at the popular Victoria Point Boaties Market on March 19.
Volunteer Marine Rescue Victoria Point Commodore Doug MacKenzie said the market had become an institution at Victoria Point.
“This is the major fund raiser for VMR, raising about $4000 per market,’’ he said. “The next market will be held from 6am to noon on Sunday, March 19 at the Victoria Point State School, Colburn Avenue.’’
Mr MacKenzie said the market usually had 150 and 200 stalls.
Sites cost $10 and no booking was required.
Buyers’ entry to the market was a gold coin.
“You can buy everything here from a fish hook to a cruiser,” Mr MacKenzie said. “They walk out with smiles, anchors and life jackets and return for more at the next market.’’
The Victoria Point Primary School Parents and Citizens Association would run a sausage sizzle.
The next market will be in October.
Entry for buyers is through either Colburn Avenue, School Road or via back walkway gates.
