Capalaba’s Endeavour Foundation op shop will hold its first car park market soon, combining it with some tasty treats for sale.
The event will be on from 9am at 11 Dollery Road, Capalaba, on Saturday, April 1.
Store manager Karen O’Donnell said that by snapping up a deal, shoppers would be opening up a world of opportunity for others with a disability,
“As an organisation, we focus on what people can do (with their) their strengths and capabilities,’’ she said.
“Endeavour Foundation is proud of the contribution people with a disability make to the community and delighted by the local support we receive for our mission.
“Proceeds from this event will enable our teams to partner with people with a disability to achieve their potential and pursue their dreams.
“As an added treat, we’ll be offering tastings of some of the fabulous food made by people with a disability at Endeavour Foundation’s Kingaroy Kitchen. I promise, you won’t be disappointed.”
Ms O’Donnell said the event would give shoppers the chance to meet the charity’s volunteers and learn a little more about Endeavour Foundation.
Glenda McAuslan began volunteering at the store 15 years ago and is a core member of the local team.
“I was aware of the good of that Endeavour Foundation did and was familiar with the history when it started at Cooparoo, near where I lived as a child, so when I was looking for volunteering opportunities, I made the decision to join the local store,’’ Ms McAuslan said
“I enjoy serving people and the store managers at Cleveland and Capalaba, along with the many volunteers, make for a very pleasant atmosphere.”
