A 34-YEAR-OLD Birkdale man has been caught driving at 103km/h in a 60km/h speed zone.
Police said the man was travelling on Finucane Road, between Willard and Moreton Bay roads, when he was caught about 3.50pm on Friday.
The driver was given a traffic infringement notice for high-range speeding after being detected by a police officer with a handheld speed camera.
Senior Sergeant Neale Stoneley from Capalaba Road Policing Unit said most drivers were well behaved in the Redlands.
“Easter is normally a quieter time on our roads because many people go away,” he said.
Police detected 145 infringements, of which 38 were for speed, in the Redlands from Friday until 6am on Tuesday.
A further 260 infringements were detected using speed cameras.
Five people were charged with drug-driving and one for drink-driving on the weekend.
Senior Sergeant Stoneley said there were four road crashes on the weekend, which was about the same as last year.
