A FANCY dress pirate-themed party has been planned for students at Birkdale South State School.
It is all part of the school’s 25th annual Under Eights’ Day festival, which is on Friday, May 26.
A school spokeswoman said more than 30 play-based activities had been planned for students in P-3 to help develop their curiosity, creativity, risk taking, social skills and more.
Playdough fun with coins, inked feather writing, flag making and more will be offered, as will a Bookaneer Bookfair, jumping castle and other high seas entertainment.
Deputy principal Loreyse Green said parents of young children not yet enrolled were invited to bring their kids along for the fun.
“We have always found this to be a wonderful community building event,” she said.
Mrs Green said parents interested in seeing the school’s prep precinct could book a tour on the day by phoning Birkdale South State School on 3820 4333.
