TUNES by maestros Rodgers and Hammerstein sung by school children brought sweet melody to the Redland Performing Arts Centre’s concert hall.
It was all part of Redlands College’s production of The Sound of Music, which was performed to packed audiences last Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 25 to 27.
Crowd chorus favourites, which included Climb Every Mountain and Favourite Things, entertained, as did the musical’s namesake song, The Sound of Music.
A school spokeswoman said more than 100 students were involved in the production, which included all facets of backstage operations and orchestra, choir and cast performance.
Students were thanked by the director, Alison Pattinson, for their determination to bring the production to life.
“Musical theatre is definitely one of my favourite things, but musicals are not staged on a director’s passion alone, but instead through the hard work and efforts of many people coming together in the manner of a theatre company; a team of people wherein no one person is more important than the next,” she said.
