SLIME, goop and shaving cream were in abundance at the under 8’s day celebrations at Mount Cotton State School.
Principal Meagan Steward said the theme for the celebration was children playing from county to coast.
Activities for prep students included sensory play with slime, goop and shaving cream, creating pig faces on biscuits, bubbles, kite-making and a nature scavenger hunt.
There were zones for construction, dress-ups and dramatic play.
“The children enjoyed the chill out zone where they read books on the picnic rugs with their parent supervisors while they enjoyed the treats provided at the refuel zone by the Mt Cotton State School P&C Association,” Ms Steward said.
“The morning was a huge success with many families coming along to enjoy the morning.”
Year 1 students enjoyed dancing, drama, craft and a scavenger hunt.
This was followed by a snack fest provided by the P&C.
Year 2 students celebrated under 8’s day last month when they built a Cleveland lighthouse with their parents.
