THE Victoria Point Boaties Market – a district institution – is on again on Sunday, October 8.
Volunteer Marine Rescue Victoria Point fundraising coordinator Ed Pepping said the market was the major fundraiser for the VMR, raising about $4000 per event.
The markets were held every six months.
“The next market will be held ... at the Victoria Point State School from 6am to noon,” Mr Pepping said.
“The market attracts between 150 and 200 stalls which can be accommodated for $10 a site and no booking is required.
“Buyers’ entry to the market is a gold coin.”
Volunteer Marine Rescue Victoria Point Commodore Doug MacKenzie said buyers left with smiles, anchors and life jackets and returned for more at the next market.
“You can buy everything here from a fish hook to a cruiser,” he said.
Entry for buyers is through either Colburn Avenue, School Road or the back gates.
