Junior cricketers took to the fields around Redlands on the weekend with Wellington Point CC Meercats taking on Cleveland Thornlands CC Maroon in an entertaining match in the under 11 RCI Trebles division. The visiting Cleveland Thornlands recording a victory.
Wellington Point finished their innings at 10-51, with Luke Padbury and Brendan Blackburn both notching five runs each and Koda Spring also among the best batsmen for the Meercats with four. Spring also starred with the ball taking two wickets while giving away no runs. Kobe Todman also finished with impressive figures of one wicket for10 runs from his spell.
Cleveland Thornlands finished with figures of 5-85, Jye Coop leading the run chase with 14, backed up by Matthew Allard with seven and Harry Pomeroy with six. Top performances with the ball in hand for CC Maroon came from Matthew Banks with three for seven and Isaac Marcon and Jye Coop both with two wickets each helping their side to take the win.
