THE LNP has promised to spend $45 million upgrading troublesome Cleveland-Redland Bay Road if elected.
The plan includes dual lanes from South Street, Cleveland, to Boundary Road, Redland Bay and upgrading Anita Street and Double Jump Road intersections.
“For too long the Redlands community has been stuck sitting in traffic because of inaction from the Palaszczuk Labor government,” Mr McEachan said.
“In 2015, I committed as a part of a re-elected LNP Government to fund the duplication of Cleveland Redland Bay Road.
“Labor opposed this in opposition and have refused to deliver in government.
“Cleveland Redland Bay Road is a major road connection to essential services, schools, public transport connections and to the places where we all work, live and play.”
Oodgeroo LNP candidate Mark Robinson said Labor had an infrastructure funding freeze in the Redlands.
“Instead of sitting around talking about building infrastructure ...the LNP has put its money where its mouth is and will actually deliver the roads infrastructure we need,” he said.
Local Government Association of Queensland chief executive Greg Hallam said the LNP promise to invest $140 million on upgrading regional roads and bridge projects if it won government was welcome news.
