Hundreds dressed in 1940s style to mark the Wings over Redlands project with a dinner dance at the Cleveland Memorial Hall on November 18.
Entertainment included The Andrews Sisters tribute band and Amberley Brass.
Unveiled was the first of 10 plaques to be erected around the area marking significant historic air sites. This one marks where a Wirraway aircraft crash landed following a mid-air collision over Thornlands. It will be erected in Ziuegenfusz Park in February. The project is a joint project between the museum under volunteer Terence Hendricks and Clevelnad Rotary coordinated by Brian Russell.
