BAYSIDERS keen to roll-up their sleeves to help others can soon find volunteering opportunities closest to them at Alexandra Hills Hotel.
More than 30 information stalls will be hosted at the venue between 9am and noon on Saturday, December 2 as part of the International Volunteers Day Expo 2017.
Volunteering Redlands chairperson Nectaria Chronopoulos said the event had been organised to encourage all residents to get involved in helping their community.

“The (expo) is an opportunity for us to honour and recognise their efforts, showcase the invaluable work of our local volunteer organisations and encourage everyone to get involved,” she said.
“Volunteers are the backbone of our community.”
She said guests at the free event could also enjoy morning tea, giveaways and the chance to win a $500 Flight Centre Travel voucher.
“We extend a warm invitation to all existing and potential volunteers to visit the expo, explore exciting volunteering opportunities and simply have a fun day,” she said.
The expo will be officially opened by Redland City mayor Karen Williams at 10am before international volunteer of the year awards are handed out.
A group spokesperson said the expo was organised to help mark the United Nations’ International Volunteers Day, which recognises the contributions of volunteers every year on December 5.
