IN 2018 Redland Art Gallery is celebrating its 15th birthday. To commemorate we have a number of opportunities available for Redlands-based art groups and artists. The RAG Red Box Pop-Up Gallery will showcase the work of local artists, working across different mediums including painting, print, photography, sculpture, ceramics and more through a series of pop-up exhibitions in the Redlands. On display throughout the year, the RAG Red Box Pop-Up Gallery will move to Redlands’ mainland and island locations rotating art and showcasing different artists on a regular basis.
In Focus 2018: Celebrating artists of the Redlands and RAG’s 15th birthday through portraiture is a significant exhibition in the RAG annual exhibition program and is designed to celebrate the wealth of artists living and working in the Redlands and the important role art groups and artists play in the cultural life of the region. Each artist can submit two works for consideration and they will be guaranteed to have a minimum of one work included. Artists are asked to respond to a theme of self-portrait.
Continuing the year long celebrations for RAG’s 15th birthday, artist Deb Mostert will work with and mentor local Redlands-based art groups and artists in shorebird making workshops. The intention is to display the 300 plus shorebirds created in a large scale installation in galleries 2, 3, 4 alongside Deb Mostert’s solo exhibition Australian Future.
