Hilliard State School opened in 1991 with 310 students enrolled. Today, there are about 735 students who are enrolled in prep through to Year 6.

The iLearn@Hilliard BYO iPad program is designed to immerse students in the digital technologies vital to promoting problem solving and innovative thinking.
Students are invited to bring an iPad to support their learning and are provided with a range of STEAM opportunities (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths). The program educates students to think creatively and autonomously.
Hilliard State School also offers a range of co-curricular activities such as choirs, instrumental groups, craft activities, Lego, skipping, Chess clubs to engage students before and after school.
In addition, parents can choose to pay for extra recreational activities such as aerobics, drama, music and Chess after school for the working family.
For parents who require before and after school care there’s Jabiru, which provides care on school grounds each day and on holidays.
The prep program combines a blend of formal learning and creative, imaginative play-based opportunities to stimulate language and support social development.
Students can enjoy a newly developed outdoor area, play gym and sandpit for sensory play.
The students are supported by professional prep teachers and teacher aides who establish caring relationships to ensure your child's emotional and educational needs are met.
Attend the Prep Expo on Thursday 26 April from 2 to 6pm in the school hall.
