IT’S match point at the Victoria Point Sharks Football Club with the AFL season off and running to a good start also kicking goals.
The 2018 season commenced with some of the 10,000 members joining in the jam-packed action on the sidelines cheering on the local football club on their home ground.
After winning both premierships in the QFA Division 3 competition in 2017, the club has been promoted to QFA Division 2 this year.
With it comes an exciting chapter as the club continues to strive to greater heights, starting with the challenges of the season ahead.
This year the club has welcomed on board the Colts under their banner.
Coach Tom Henwood and Assistant Coach Andrew Woods leads the committed young men and looks forward to a challenging but satisfying season.
The Redland Bombers are excited about the upcoming season with systems, players plus a game plan in place to set them in good stead.
Also, the Victoria Point Sharks Junior Football Club has hit record signups in Brisbane Juniors with many teenagers committed to the team sport.
About 200 player and parents attended the first session of Outside The Locker Room recently where the club took a stance to help teenagers with life challenges. Three more sessions are planned this year.
Female football exploded during summer and expanded from two teams in 2017 to five girls teams in 2018.
The introduction of the AFLW competition is helping girls get involved in footy.
The junior football space has also had a very exciting off-season with the addition of a couple of inflatable footy fields.
There are 12 junior teams who are excited to begin their footy careers.
The little ones take to the field each Saturday morning to soak up the atmosphere on the sidelines at the Sharks.

There’s a range of activities to get involved with in the Sharks community from a trivia night to a 70s tribute performance this Friday.
Sharks Club brings together the local sporting community hosting eight local sporting groups.
Whether your cricket, netball, softball or AFL crazy, the Sharks Club can accommodate for all. The club has two full-sized AFL lit ovals.
