THE Redlands Multicultural Group has celebrated its 14th anniversary with Cr Paul Bishop as their special guest.
The groups fosters harmonious relations among members of cultural groups living in the Redlands.
Members come from Redlands and further afield to promote friendship and understanding of other cultures by sharing stories, food and music.
Over the past 14 years people from more than 48 countries have been part of the cultural experience.
Founder and organiser Shahin Master received the Redland Harmony Hero Award in 2006 and was featured in Louise Gibbons’ book The Voice of Women in the Redlands.
The group produced a cookbook with support of Redland City Council.
Cr Paul Bishop was invited by the group to cut the cake for their 14th anniversary.
The Redland Multicultural Group meets every Thursday from 10am to noon in D Block, at the TAFE in Windermere Road, Alexandra Hills.
