Popular vocal trio Tenori will headline at Twilight Jazz on the Green, being staged at the Ormiston College junior school courtyard from 4pm on Friday, May 18.
This free inaugural event is open to the community and people are encouraged to bring picnic rugs or chairs and secure their places early for an evening of entertainment.
Tenori has a link to the school through one of its members Craig Atkinson who teaches voice at the school. He is joined on stage by David Kidd and Andrew Pryor to present a mix of opera, music theatre and jazz pieces.
The school’s big band will join the group in presenting renditions of popular jazz standards.
Head of Music Emma Dron said the event was also open to local jazz groups who wanted a space to show their talent.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for people to get involved and to show what they are able to do. It is a great space and it promises to be a special event. We hope the community gets involved,” Ms Dron said.
